Meet Jeremiah, one of ParkIndy’s Parking Ambassadors. His role puts him on the front lines of Indianapolis’s streets, where he helps keep traffic flowing and the community safe. But Jeremiah’s story stretches well beyond the uniform. A proud Hoosier, he’s an outdoorsman, a family man, and even a skilled juggler. His life is rooted in tradition, responsibility, and a love for nature.

We asked Jeremiah five questions. Here’s how he responded:

Q: What do you love about Indiana’s outdoors?

A: Fishing has been in my life for as long as I can remember. My dad had us on the water before we could even walk. It’s always been a family tradition. Bass fishing with lures, catfish with shrimp or cherry Kool-Aid — I’ve even caught catfish on beef jerky before. It’s less about the catch and more about the time spent outside, connecting with nature. Turkey Run State Park is one of my favorite places. The trails, the rivers, the quiet — it’s where I feel most at home.

Q: How did you learn to juggle?

A: I was in 4th or 5th grade when I started. Believe it or not, I practiced with Christmas ornaments until my mom stopped me — she was worried I’d break them all — and handed me some tennis balls. Within a week I had the basics down. Today I can juggle four objects at once.

Q: Do you have a favorite hangout in Indianapolis?

A: Nature, for sure. My girlfriend and I make it a habit to take a walk every Sunday. It’s our time to disconnect from our phones and reconnect with each other. It’s simple, but it’s grounding.

Q: How does family influence your life?

A: Being one of the older brothers in my family gave me a sense of responsibility early on. A lot of my hobbies — like fishing — came from family traditions. That connection to where I come from keeps me grounded and gives me perspective. It’s a reminder that everything we do today becomes part of someone else’s memories tomorrow.

Q: What do you want people to know about your work?

A: That we’re human too. People sometimes think of us as just the uniform, but there’s so much more behind it. Without enforcement, the streets would be chaos. What we do is about safety and fairness — making sure people can get where they’re going without obstacles or risk.

Jeremiah’s balance of tradition, responsibility, and empathy shows up in every part of his life. From fishing poles to juggling balls to parking enforcement, he’s always looking for ways to keep things in balance. That’s what makes him an important part of ParkIndy.
